The marquises of Bajamar, two portraits recovered for Goya

The extraordinary quality of the portraits of Don Antonio Porlier Sopranis and his wife Dona Maria Jerónima Daoíz y Guendica, painted by Francisco de Goya, has been interpreted in different ways by historians because of the involvement of a second brush that changed their original appearance. New technical studies allow the author present the scope of the changes and attribute them to Mariano Salvador Maella.
