«All art is contemporary. That's the first thing to understand»
Bill Viola is one of the most recognized video artists. Considered a pioneer in digital creation since the 70s, his language grows in the tradition of old masters and is based on universal human experiences like life, death or the passage of time. We talked to him the day after he picked up the XXI International Prize of Catalonia, an award that had not previously fallen on a plastic author. Now we can see some of his works in the exhibition organized by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.
