Emeritus professor from London university, from his start at Oxford has dedicated himself to investigating Spanish eighteenth century culture, and has published a number of studies, among others on José Cadalso and francisco Goya. He is now concluding Spanish Art in Britain and Ireland, 1750-1920: Studies in Reception of Memory of Enriqueta Harris Frankfort, an homage to the hispanist that is to be published to next year.
