Realism and Current
More than three centuries have passed since Zurbarán or Pedro de Mena conceived their religious scenes, however their extraordinary realism still captivates today's contemporary artists. Damien Hirst, Ron Mueck, the Chapman brothers and Antony Gormley, among many, visited The Sacred Made Real in London. After its stay in Washington and Valladolid seventeenth century Spanish polychromed sculpture still shines for its modernity and inspirational allure.
