The million dollar Michael Jackson sale

The sale orgaized this saturday by Julien's Auctions brought to light personal items from the temporary home of the deceased Pop singer

Beverly Hills , 12/19/11

Darren Julien, president of Julien's Auctions, has still not especified the exact sum fetched by the items found in Jackson's rented house in Beverly Hills. But without doubt the results are far from what was expected and the estimate provided by the auction house 200,000-400,000 dollars.

Highlights included a chalkboard in the kitchen, where Jackson's children had written I love daddy, which was finally auctioned off for 5.000 dollars. Another lot of similar interest was the armoire where the singer inscribed a message for himself and went on to fetch 25,750 dollars.

The house where  the star spent the last months of his life, while preparing for his come-back concerts in London, also contained furniture and works of art. Like for example the bed board of the matress where Jackson's body was found without life was retrived by the family, but the rug underneath with bids starting at 400 dollars was finally auctioned off for more than 15.000 dollars.

It seems the efforts of the California firm in making the lots on offer as attractive as possible really hatched. Among the many initiatives, the objects were placed just as they were found in the singer's lair, recreating the spaces of the Beverly Hills mansion milimetrically. The response from his band of fans has been munumental, with Julien commenting on their feedback "Michael Jackson had the best fans in the world; now I understand why he lived for them".

Julien's Auctions is an auction house in Los Angeles which usually deals with objects belonging to different celebrities quite weel known by the public. Much the same as Aspire Auctions the firm has sold works that have belonged to such prominet figures as Cher, Barbara Streissand or Slash. The firm had already sold a Michael JAckson item previously this year, teh Thriller jacket that went on to make 1.8 million dollars. Alfonso Carbajo Agrasar
