Dalí sculpture stollen in broad daylight

It was part of the exhibition dedicated to the Spanish Surrealist painter in the Belgian city of Bruges.

Bruges, 08/20/10

The bronze sculpture ‘Woman with drawers’ by Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), valued at 100,000 euros, has been stolen from one of the exhibition rooms in this Flemish city, at north east of Belgium, according to the police sources and local press.

Seemingly, the thieves introduced the sculpture, 50 cm tall and weighing some 10 kilos, into a bag, which allowed them to hide it and leave the exhibition unnoticed, according to the Belgian press.

Although the news came out on Friday, the robbery had taken place on Wednesday. Nevertheless, Interart, the company in charge of the exhibition dedicated to the Spanish artist, has not confirmed the news yet.
