'Theater, you are pure theater'

An exhibition traces the trajectory of the young artist Peter Paricio: pop, geometry, irony and abstraction in equal parts

Seville, 05/18/12

Peter Paricio (Tenerife, 1982) is the protagonist of the exhibition presented in the ICAS space at Casino Exhibition in Seville until June 24. More than thirty works covering the various series conceived from his beginnings - like Digital seriesDestructures, Canary Paradise, After Francis Bacon or Master Painters- up to the still unpublished Diary of an Artist, presented under the watchful eye the curator Juan Manuel Bonet.

The exaggerated use of color combined with the harmonius geometry, references to graphic design and the work of early twentieth-century artists like Francis Bacon, are some of the influences that constructs his work. Or in the words of Tomás Paredes, President of the Madrid Association of Art Critics, his work is defined as " a cocktail shaker with a little bit  of pop, aroma of geometries, sighs of abstraction, 'alfaguara' of comías, a pinch of tenderness, a point of irony, mojo rogue, street art, graffiti and a few drops of perfume Guanche."

Pedro Paricio. The Theatre of Painting is held in the Casino de la Exposición, the building constructed in 1929 by the architect Vicente Trever, which now is part of the exhibition spaces of the ICAS - Institute of Culture and Arts of Seville – with his own artistic programming.
